FELLOWS
FOREVER.

Every single person that embarks upon one of our programmes becomes a Toucan Fellow.

The Toucan Project provides Toucan Fellows access to opportunities within their ecosystem of partners – including educational opportunities, volunteer opportunities and professional opportunities such as internships, graduate training programmes and/or paid employment.

The Toucan Project provides competitive, optional opportunities, such as internships, scholarships, visits to Saïd Business School (SBS) summer school opportunities, and online courses (either recorded talks and/or materials from SBS).

Toucan Fellow programmes seek not only to provide opportunities for economic progress through access to education and training, but also to create meaningful communities that will grow together and impact others in the decades to come.

In the pilot phase The Toucan Project aims to co-grant Toucan Fellows chosen by some of the following organisations:

  • Centre For Entrepreneurs
  • DAFI (Deutsche Akademische Flüchtlings Initiative Albert Einstein). In collaboration with Saïd Foundation
  • Prince’s Trust (in collaboration with the Enterprise Programme)
  • RISE Programme
  • Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre (Theatre management)
  • Skoll Centre for Social Entrepreneurship
  • Turquoise Mountain
  • UNHCR Education Programme
  • Unltd

THE 10%
PRINCIPLE

Toucan Fellow programmes seek not only to provide opportunities for economic progress, but also to create meaningful communities that will grow together and impact others in the decades to come.

The Toucan Project embeds a voluntary 10% Principle in all the TF’s educational and grant-making programmes. We ask all of our scholars and entrepreneurs to donate a minimum of 10% of the value of their scholarship or grant within ten years following the completion of their programme.

The repayment currency can comprise “time”, which includes contributions to the programme based on mentorship and service-oriented activities. Our graduates can then impart the knowledge/experience they have gained on the programme to members of our community.

We ask all scholars and entrepreneurs whilst they are being supported to dedicate a minimum of 16 hours per month to volunteering, mentoring, publicising the work of the TF and its partner organisations and supporting other youngsters who benefit from the TF.

All financial (10% of the value of each grant) and service-based proceeds accrete either to our partner organisations or to The Toucan Project.
