The Toucan Project works through a partnership model, providing grants to trusted partners with excellent reputations. Partners identify students meeting eligibility criteria and are selected and supported jointly by The Toucan Project and our partners.

The purpose of The Toucan Project is to support students to build or re-build better lives through access to educational, vocational training and internship opportunities.

Students supported come from disadvantaged backgrounds and also have the potential to become leaders in their chosen fields. They are known as Toucan Fellows.

The Toucan Project works through a partnership model, providing grants to trusted partners with excellent reputations. Partners identify students meeting eligibility criteria and are selected and supported jointly by The Toucan Project and our partners.

In addition to making grants to partners, The Toucan Project will:

  • Fundraise from corporate entities, charitable organisations and Individuals for co-funding of the Fellows on behalf of its partners, with any funding raised going directly to the partners to match funding provided by The Toucan Project.
  • Provide coaching and pastoral care to students, where appropriate, in addition to any mentoring they receive from the partner organisations.
